Around 4 1/2 to 5 weeks Cole starting smiling socially. That means he doesn’t just smile when he’s drifting off to sleep or just dropped a load of you know what. Now, when he sees a face he loves, he smiles and sometimes coos a little.
Here’s one of his first smiles.

This face is a cute one. I think it was right before a poopy. Be careful Cole, your face might freeze that way.

But most of the time, I’m chillin’ with my big sis and dad under my play gym.
Daddy had the week off from work so we did a few fun activities with Cole and Grace. First, we took Cole a bath since his umbilical cord has healed. He seems to like bath time especially when it’s by the warm window in the kitchen.
We also made it down to the Ventura County Fair. However, all Cole did was eat and sleep. Big sis Grace was able to see lots of farm animals and Daddy even won her a Strawberry Shortcake doll playing darts. Cole was too busy eating and sleeping to notice. Maybe you’ll stay awake next year little buddy.
While staying at home with Grace and Cole last week we introduced Cole to all of Grace’s old baby gear. Grace did a good job showing him how they worked. He’s a quick learner.
