February was off to a great start partly due to the fact that I quit my job to stay at home with the kids. Dan and I discussed the matter for a while and work was getting a bit too much so I figure that there’s no better time than now to stay at home with Grace and Cole while they are young. We are sacrificing a lot as a family but I know it will be totally worth it. I also don’t know how long I will be able to stay at home. It might be a few months or perhaps a few years. No matter how long I get to be with the kids full-time, I will try to make the most out of it.
Obviously the best part about staying at home with Grace and Cole is that I get to watch them grow and change constantly. Cole is growing like a weed I can hardly keep up. One of his new milestones lately is that he is able to go to the sitting position from lying on his stomach. The crazy part is that he mastered this in one weekend. As I was watching him do this, I started to remember how the night wakings would be more and more frequent. You see, now Cole will cry at night, sit up, and be stuck there because he doesn’t know how to lie back down. Yipee. I get to go to their bedroom a few more times a night.
Cole has a cute technique while going to the sitting position. He drags his head across the floor until he’s able to pick it up. The helmet provides good protection from rugburns.

Another view.

Crawling is usually the next milestone but Cole is completely content at sitting up and playing with all his toys. Since he’s teething like mad, he loves to chew on anything he can get his hands on. Like for instance a paper towel roll.

Or bubble wrap perhaps.

He really enjoyed playing with Sissy’s phone while she was away at pre-school.
And he even tries to get a ball into his mouth.

After a long day of trying to eat things, Cole is tuckered out and passes out early in Mommy’s lap. Poor little guy.

I really love watching Grace and Cole interact. Grace is Cole’s favorite person and she can always get a smile out of him.

She loves showing him her old toys and how they work.

Cole enjoys their play time in his crib right before bath time. He is also now learning to pull himself up.

He can almost do it.

Because Cole wears his helmet 23 hours out of the day, it’s hard to me to remember to take pictures of him without it. I usually take it off 1 hour before bedtime. I managed to snap a pic recently. His head shape is looking great. Don’t worry Daddy, Cole was only trying to eat Grace’s dolls, not play with them.

Until next time. Here’s an expression that’s bound to make you laugh.

If that didn’t do it then this one will definitely make you smile.
